Simon Nadeau holds a bachelor's degree in geological engineering from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (2016) and he has a master's degree in oceanography from Université du Québec à Rimouski (2019). He carried out several internships and missions in remote areas (Manic-5, Kuujjuaq, Ellesmere Island, St. Lawrence river, etc.), with the objective of carrying out geological mapping of Quebec, sampling of epiglacial lakes (physical measurements of ice, profiling of water columns, sediment coring, filtration of phytoplankton, etc.) and sampling the navigation channel of the St. Lawrence (gravity corer), while carrying out seismic reflection (CHIRP-Knudsen). His mastery focused on the characterization of the stratigraphy and sedimentary processes of the St. Lawrence navigation channel between Montreal and Sorel-Tracy allowed him to develop skills in project management, acquisition and processing of seismic data (Kingdom Suite) , in analysis of high resolution bathymetric data (Caris-Hips & Sips), in using ArcGis tools and in laboratory analyzes of multiple physicochemical properties of sediment cores. He started working at CIDCO in November 2019.
